What You’ll Do

In this exciting new career opportunity, you’ll play a pivotal, hands-on role in executing our data strategy. You’ll be responsible for building, optimising, and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines and data products on Google Cloud Platform, ensuring high-quality, reliable data is available for analysis and business consumption.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust and scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines
• Build and maintain data models within BigQuery, implementing Medallion Architecture layers
• Translate data requirements into actionable LookML models and develop Looker dashboards and reports
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the data platform by implementing automation scripts and CI/CD best practices for data pipeline deployments
• Implement data validation, monitoring, and quality checks within pipelines to ensure data integrity and reliability
• Work closely with the Principal Engineer, other data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists to deliver effective solutions and provide technical support

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field
• 4–7 years’ hands-on experience in data engineering or data warehousing roles
• Proven experience with GCP data services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer and familiarity with Pub/Sub for real-time data ingestion
• Demonstrable experience with Looker and LookML
• Practical experience with Medallion Architecture
• Experience with CI/CD practices and version control systems
• Strong programming skills in Python for data manipulation and scripting
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration techniques
