Maintenance Supervisor: Live-in role
- Pumphouse Point
- Grounds and Maintenance
- Lake Saint Clair
- Full-time
With properties in some of Australia’s most iconic locations, NRMA Parks & Resorts provide accommodation that suits every budget, style, and occasion – from campsites to luxury resorts. We connect holidaymakers with over 50 incredible destinations to create unforgettable holiday experiences. Part of the trusted NRMA Group, a member-owned brand, our passionate team works together to make holiday magic happen—it's not just our job, it's in our nature.
Pumphouse Point is an adults-only retreat nestled on Lake St Clair, just 2.5 hours from Hobart. This hidden gem features 19 rooms in two converted heritage buildings, offering an intimate escape in World Heritage wilderness. Only 10 minutes away, the Derwent Bridge Wilderness Hotel boasts soaring ceilings, exposed beams, and a grand double-sided fireplace at the heart of its bar and restaurant—perfect for relaxing by the fire, enjoying a meal, and sipping a drink in a classic alpine pub.
What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Group Maintenance Manager and working closely with the General Manager, you’ll look after the day-to-day operations of the grounds and maintenance at Pumphouse Point and Derwent Bridge Hotel. You’ll be self-motivated and able to work autonomously. You'll uphold high standards in property and facility upkeep, ensuring everything runs smoothly and looks its best. This is a very hands‑on role, working as the sole Handyperson onsite, supported by and setting tasks for All‑Rounders on your days off.
This is a live-in role, with subsidised staff accommodation offered. Personal transport is essential due to the remote location.
A level of fitness is required to meet the physical demands of this role, along with a resilient, can‑do attitude. We are seeking an experienced full‑time Maintenance Supervisor who is committed to making a long‑term impact. On a daily basis you’ll:
- Lead your team and participate in daily grounds and maintenance tasks.
- Carry out incidental maintenance repairs in rooms, grounds, amenities and other facilities.
- Assist with building projects, major repairs and renovations, including painting, basic plumbing, mechanical repairs and replacing hardware.
- Support day‑to‑day operations by assisting with porterage, including guest luggage deliveries to rooms as required
- Assist with the receival of stock deliveries as required, ensuring items are handled safely and efficiently.
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum of 3 years related experience in hospitality maintenance role or a relevant field
- Well developed interpersonal and people management skills, including ability to interact with and influence people at all levels
- Strong leadership and management skills combined with a proven ability to lead, mentor and develop others
- Demonstrated skills and experience in repairing and maintaining buildings, plant and equipment
- Proven time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Trade qualification or relevant certificates (desirable)
