Job Description

Are you an experienced, handyperson, with a passion to add value? You'll be part of a hard-working small Team reporting into the property Maintenance Supervisor. Your problem-solving skills and existing maintenance skills will help you in this full-time role. You may assist across both locations, Pumphouse Point and Derwent Bridge Hotel. You'll have flexibility to work on weekends and public holidays. On a daily basis you will:

  • Maintain facilities and grounds to the highest standard, always looking for ways to exceed guest expectations
  • Complete daily maintenance and grounds checklists
  • Support other departments with porterage or housekeeping duties as needed
  • Follow direction from the Maintenance Supervisor

What you’ll do:

  • Incidental maintenance repairs in rooms, amenities and other facilities.
  • Incidental customer service assistance with in-room repairs.
  • Assist with building projects, major repairs, renovations, mechanical repairs - painting, basic plumbing or replacing hardware.
  • Maintenance of grounds and gardens
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure the efficient completion of maintenance tasks​
  • Assist in other departments when required (housekeeping and porter duties)

What you’ll bring:

  • A strong background in property maintenance and power tool use
  • Great time management and attention to detail
  • A friendly, guest-focused attitude and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure with a "hands on" work history
  • An ability to follow direction related to daily tasks and expectations 
  • Knowledge and understanding of safe working procedures
  • Flexibility to assist in housekeeping and other departments
  • A current driver’s licence and your own vehicle (essential for remote living)
  • A positive, energetic approach and reasonable level of fitness
