Freycinet Lodge is an eco-lodge that sits within the world famous Freycinet National Park – a stone’s throw from the renowned Wineglass Bay on the picturesque East Coast of Tasmania. The Lodge consists of 70 rooms and a main lodge, thoughtfully constructed around a beautiful waterfront below The Hazards mountain range. Located approximately 2.5 hours from Hobart or Launceston, Freycinet Lodge neighbours the popular holiday town of Coles Bay. 


Job Description

  • Ensure our guests have a great food and beverage experience and make holiday memories 
  • Staff accommodation and meals package available  
  • Couple applications welcome 

We’re hiring multiple casual team members to join us from mid-August through mid-September, just ahead of a busy summer season. We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to help us deliver the outstanding service we’re known for. You'll ideally be able to commit to at least six months, including availability over the festive Christmas and New Year period.  

We’re on the lookout for: 

  • Experienced Bartenders with a passion for premium service 
  • Fine Dining Wait Staff who thrive in a high-end hospitality environment 

 Our Team also hosts private wine tastings for our guests – strong wine knowledge is a must! 

What you’ll do: 

You may work in a variety of our food and beverage outlets, providing exceptional service with a warm welcome. You’ll treat our guests and customers as individuals, offering tailored options and solutions with a resilient and can-do attitude. On a daily basis you will: 

  • Undertake general waiting and service duties of food and beverages. 
  • Ensure accurate processing of dockets, including cashiering duties. 
  • Setup and reset restaurants and specific conference & function activities as required. 

What you’ll bring:   

  • Food and beverage service experience with a passion for great food showcasing local produce  
  • Strong bar, cocktail and mixology experience 
  • Understanding of sequence of service principles and general service operations 
  • A vibrant attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team 
  • Genuine interest and knowledge of beverage products such as spirits, beer, and wine. 
  • A reputation for providing excellent customer service, engaging in great conversations with our guests 
  • Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate 
  • Possess a Do Food Safely Certificate of completion 
  • Australian driver’s license 
  • Flexible attitude to work hours over a 7 day roster, including weekends and public holidays
