Job Description

This exciting career opportunity is the 2IC to the Senior Manager Finance, responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the NRMA financial statements, general ledgers and associated reconciliations and for maintaining high quality internal and external financial reporting and disclosures for the NRMA Group.

  • Assist in prioritising and co-ordinating the activities of the Financial Control team to ensure key deliverables are met
  • Provide training and guidance to Financial Accountants to support delivery of objectives across the team
  • Prepare and distribute the month-end Group Timetable and monitor the achievement of deadlines across the Group
  • Assist with completion of group consolidation and preparation of financial statements
  • Assist in preparing annual budget and quarterly forecast of balance sheet and cash flow for group
  • Assist with management of the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring timely clearance of reconciling items
  • Complete complex accounting tasks including accounting for investment portfolio
  • Assist with preparation of statutory accounts and associated information for regulatory reports and external disclosures
  • Facilitate the provision of audit and related information for statutory audits

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related discipline
  • Post-graduate professional accreditation of either CA or CPA Australia
  • Prior experience in a similar role in a medium to large organisation, with a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience
  • Experience in interpreting and communicating technical accounting issues under Australian International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Experience managing a small team
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong customer focus
