Become a full-time, permanent (employee) NRMA Driving Instructor and make a lasting impact on road safety within your community. You’ll teach the real meaning of independent driving by delivering tailored lessons based on the NRMA Driver Training Curriculum whilst developing your skills within the industry to deliver the NSW Safer Drivers Course, become an Older Driver Assessor and to be an authorised trainer for our dynamic Corporate Driver Training program.

About the role
- Location: We are open to those living in and willing to service the following regions:
- Sutherland Shire (Cronulla / Hurstville / Menai / Caringbah)
- South West Sydney (Bankstown / Liverpool/ Fairfield)
- Sydney Inner West (Canterbury / Marrickville / Leichhardt / Homebush)
- Inner North West (Ryde / Epping / Castle Hill)
- Outer South West (Campbelltown / Narellan)
- Illawarra & Shoalhaven (Wollongong)
- Hours: Guaranteed 38 hours per week
- Availability: Must be able to do a roster Monday – Sunday, between 7am – 8pm
- Roster: Your roster is provided in advance, so you can plan. Shifts are based on customer demand, with a focus on weekend and before and after school hours.
What You'll Bring
NRMA is committed to ensuring a safe and positive customer experience. To deliver these services to our customers, we are looking for employees with the following qualifications, experiences and skills:
Essential licenses:
- Valid NSW Driving Instructor Licence
- Willingness to obtain TfNSW Safer Drivers Course (min module 2) accreditation
- Willingness to obtain Older Driver Assessment qualifications when eligible (will need 3 years of driving instructor experience to be eligible for this)
- Valid NSW C class Driver’s Licence
- Valid Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
Essential skills:
- Passion and dedication to help our learner drivers of today become safe and independent drivers
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to exude empathy and patience in all interactions
- The ability to drive NRMA products and positive reviews through a need based selling approach
- Excellent communication with the ability to effectively engage with a broad spectrum of individuals spanning from differing demographics to levels of driving confidence
- Exceptional understanding and adherence to NSW road rules and regulations
- Effective diary management and a strong work ethic, able to tightly manage time and optimise schedule to service customers
- Ability to confidently adapt to various customer learning styles, needs and preferences
- A team player with a strong work ethic who is flexible and willing to adapt and grow with business demand and requirements
Desirable (or must have a willingness to obtain):
- Facilitation skills (willingness to undergo Cert IV Training and Assessment during employment)
- A willingness to be upskilled to deliver driver training products such as but not limited to the Safer Drivers Course and NRMA’s proprietary Corporate Driver Training program
