Pumphouse Point is an adults-only retreat nestled on Lake St Clair, just 2.5 hours from Hobart. This hidden gem features 19 rooms in two converted heritage buildings, offering an intimate escape in World Heritage wilderness. Only 10 minutes away, the Derwent Bridge Wilderness Hotel boasts soaring ceilings, exposed beams, and a grand double-sided fireplace at the heart of its bar and restaurant—perfect for relaxing by the fire, enjoying a meal, and sipping a drink in a classic alpine pub.


Job Description

  • Lead an iconic Tasmanian guest service experience in a world-class wilderness setting.
  • With your experience, create an impact on our guests in this hands-on and detail orientated full-time role
  • Ensure our guests have a great experience and make holiday memories

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide an exceptional experience to our guests from reservation and throughout their stay, creating lifetime memories. On a daily basis you will:

  • Lead and support your team to ensure they are engaged, informed and rostered effectively
  • Complete reception tasks such as taking bookings, preparing invoices, checking guests in and out
  • Answer phone and email enquires promptly and professionally
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure rooms are ready for guest arrivals or to ensure guest needs are met

What you’ll bring:  

  • Strong Guest Service experience with sound knowledge of NewBook, RoomMaster, Opera or a similar booking system
  • Experience in night audit
  • Team Leader or Supervisor experience is a must!
  • A reputation for providing excellent guest/customer connection, engaging in great conversations with our guests
  •  A vibrant attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team
  • Certificate II in Hospitality (Operations) or equivalent experience
  • Problem solving skills including the ability to apply mathematical skills in a workplace context
