Celebrating LGBTQA+ diversity
Helping our people shine
Meet SHINE, our employee resource group dedicated to raising awareness, educating, and celebrating LGBTQI+ diversity. SHINE actively supports LGBTQI+ inclusion through strategic initiatives, ally development, and visible focus, both internally and externally.
Making change together
We’re proud of our progress and the community and allies we’ve met along the way. We continue to work with Pride in Diversity to refine our LGBTQI+ inclusion strategy and were awarded AWEI Gold Employer in 2025.
We warmly welcome LGBTQI+ community members, including transgender and gender diverse individuals to join our team. If you need support or have questions during your application process or employment journey, feel free to contact our Group Diversity & Inclusion manager, Courtney Pond at courtney.pond@mynrma.com.au
Building partnerships
We take great pride in our partnerships and memberships with organisations who exist to champion diversity and inclusion at work. Through these connections, we can learn and continually improve the environment we offer our people.
I am proud to work for a company that fosters an environment where you feel safe and encouraged to be your authentic self. It’s one that connects to Countries daily to deliver impacts for First Nations peoples, organisations and communities. I feel blessed that my ancestors have paved this path for us to walk together.
Di Ellis
Senior Indigenous Engagement Manager
As a proud Thunghutti/Dunghutti (Mid North coast of NSW) Wiradjuri (North West NSW) and Jawoyn (Pine Creek NT) man. Throughout my career I always choose an organisation that their values align with my personal values. I was excited to read through The NRMA's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and dissecting their commitments for our First Nations employees, communities and most importantly employment. Working with an all inclusive organisation it allows me to bring my whole self to work, having the support and most importantly respect to share my expertise and culture in a culturally safe environment.
Rich Smith
Talent Acquisition Specialist - First Nations
As the executive sponsor of SHINE, I’m committed to making sure our workplace is a place where everyone feels safe and valued, where you can truly be yourself, no matter your sexual orientation or gender identity. I believe that when our team can fully express themselves, it makes our company a better place to work and helps us all succeed together.
