Located approximately 4.5 hours from Hobart or Launceston, Strahan Village is located in the heart of Strahan and offers an abundance of character and unique stories of the area’s pioneering history. We’re hiring multiple casual team members to join us for the busy summer season. You'll ideally be able to commit to at least six months, including availability over the festive Christmas and New Year period

What you’ll do:

You may work in a variety of our food and beverage outlets where you’ll actively contribute to a vibrant, collaborative team focused environment. In this role you’ll support the Kitchen Team to deliver consistently high quality meals by providing non-cooking duties in a kitchen or food preparation area. On a daily basis you will:

• Undertake general cleaning duties within a kitchen or food preparation area and scullery
• Cleaning of cooking and general utensils used in a kitchen and restaurant
• Assist colleagues who are cooking including assembling and preparing ingredients

What you’ll bring:  

• A vibrant attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team 
• Genuine Interest in working in a commercial kitchen, preparing fresh produce 
• Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills  
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and acquire new skills 
• Ability to apply general mathematical skills in a workplace context 
• An ability to work in a fast paced environment 
• Possess a Do Food Safely Certificate of completion 
• Flexibility to work across other areas of the Resort as required such Housekeeping, Reception or Food & Beverage 
• Flexible attitude to work hours over a 7 day roster, including weekends and public holidays
